The first tournament of the season, the MFA 1 Open, will be held November 20th

Location: Dakota Community Centre – Great Hall (Upstairs) 1188 Dakota St, Winnipeg, MB R2N 3T8

Registrations Fees:

U13 & U15 events – $15 + $15 (administrations fees)

All Other Events – $25 + $15 (administration fees)

Age Qualifications

U13 – born 2009 or later

U15 – born 2007 or later

U17 (Cadet) – born 2006 or later

U20 (Junior) – born 2002 or later

Open (Senior) – Open

Masters – 30 years old and over

Registration Closes November 17 12pm

Equipment Check (on-site): Friday November 19, 5:30-8pm and Saturday November 20, 7-8am.

COVID-19 Vaccination Status and Sport

According to Dr. Brent Roussin, youth under the age of 18 years do not require COVID 19 vaccinations to participate in sports; this is similar to policies in Manitoba’s schools.   Subject to change according to the number of active cases in the province.  CTV News video here (link).

Try Fencing! Events Near You

Try Fencing! events at Sport Manitoba

When: August 14, 21, 28

Time: 10am- 1pm

Where: Sport For Life Center (145 Pacific Ave) on floor ‘Flex 3’ (blue gym)

The Rapier Fencing Club (RFC) is back in action! We are pleased to announce 3 half day training camps. These camps are free of charge and are open to first-time and novice fencers alike!

Camps are hosted at the Sport For Life Center on August 14, 21, and 28, from 10am-1pm. Please join us for a fun-filled, action packed fencing experience, with instruction being offered in both French and English.

Summer Training Camp #1

SUMMER TRAINING CAMP # 1

               August 16th, 2021 – August 20th, 2021

The goal of the camp is to prepare the fencer for the next competitive season in all weapons. The emphasis will be on training athletes for Canada Cup 1/2, Canada Games, NAC and International Circuits.  Athletes who have at least one-year fencing are very welcome.

Program:  Physical preparation, Footwork, Technical and tactical preparation,

              Provincial Team Members       No Cost

              Out of province athletes            450 $

              National Team Members          250 $

              Athletes from Manitoba            250 $
